Amazon Star

Amazon Star 2015

The Amazon Star has been recently updated in a new color palette using Malam Batiks designed by Jinny Beyer, with RJR fabrics!  The wonderful spring inspired color palette is reminiscent of lilac flowers, and is a refreshing departure from the original color palette of the Amazon Star in rich golds, greens, and browns.  This quilt sample was created by Certified Instructor, Kristen Bender!

Cozy Cabin Comforts

Cozy Cabin Comforts

The Cozy Cabin Comforts pattern is a variation on one of the Geese Migrations book designs called Cabin Comforts designed by Certified Shop, Cottonpicker’s Quilt Shop located in Chardon, OH.  The updated design allows for quilters to complete only some of the geese and star blocks, which finish to 24″, and fill the open spaces with a variety of 24″ block options to create something unique and different.  We used fabrics from our Seasonal Portraits fabric collection to create a window to Northwest Montana.

Maple Leaf Flurries

Maple Leaf Flurries

The Maple Leaf Flurries is a wall quilt size version of the Indian Summer Pattern!  This pattern was created using a simple color palette from our Seasonal Portraits Collection to accentuate the maple leaf element of the quilt pattern and provide a great introductory pattern using one of our simpler foundation units!

Prickly Pinecones Tree Skirt

Prickly Pinecones Tree Skirt

This pattern is the first design in our collection of patterns to teach one of Judy’s latest innovative techniques, the basted registration point.  You’ll never misalign large units again using this approach! The perfectly spaced spikes, rich, chocolate and vanilla color palette (from our Seasonal Portraits Collection), and log cabin center star are sure to make your Christmas Celebration just a little more inviting!  We are sure to have one under our tree this year!

Starling Murmurations

Starling Murmurations

Starling Murmurations is a companion pattern to the Geese Migrations book.  You must purchase the book to get the instructions for each of the units in the pattern, but from there, you can follow the instructions included here to put together this fun, introductory, and simple pattern using the large stars and a variety of geese blocks!  The cover quilt was made using Hoffman Batiks and the colors mimic a pasture of poppies and swirling starlings, creating a phenomenon called “Murmurations”.

Summer Solstice

Summer Solstice

Judy and Judel Niemeyer’s Seasonal Portraits fabrics were used to create the latest cover sheet version of one of our most popular patterns called Summer Solstice!  Featured fabrics were designed around some of Northwest Montana’s most famous lakeshores, where waters are a rich turquoise color, the glacial rock deposits are deep reds and purples and shine brightly in the clear mountain waters where wheat fields line the shore.  Our Mariner’s Compass inspired solids in the collection are a wonderful reminder of the summer sailboat races across Flathead Lake, with every fabric embracing the season of Summer.

Tea Leaf Table Runner

Tea Leaf Table Runner

Due to its popularity as a staple in our Leaf Collection, the Tea Leaf Table Runner cover sheet was in need of an update using Malam Batiks designed by Jinny Beyer from RJR Fabrics. The colorway was selected and the samples were made by Certified Instructor and Certified Shop Owner, Shahena Fredricks, of Cozy Quilts, in Port Hope, Ontario, Canada.

Three Quiltworx.com Leaf Series
Three: Quiltworx.com Leaf Series

Three: Quiltworx Leaf Series, created using our Seasonal Portraits Collection, adds a new leaf design to our Leaf Series Pattern Collection, incorporating three fat leaves is a fun wall quilt concept with the leaves lined up in a row. A curved stem is used to join the two leaf blocks.  Judy introduces her NEW Registrations Points Technique, simplifying the process of finding your match points on long seam lines perfectly every time!

Rocky Mountain Bear Claw Table Runner and Pillows

Rocky Mountain Bear Claw Table Runner and Pillows

The Rocky Mountain Bear Claw Table Runner and Pillows utilize a squared up version of one of our newest blocks, a viscous, bright grizzly bear claw featured in the Rocky Mountain Bear Claw quilt pattern (also available for purchase through Quiltworx.com).  Fabrics from our Seasonal Portraits, Reclaimed West, and coordinating batik collections were used for these projects.

Butterfly Barnyard Baby Blanket

Butterfly Barnyard Baby Blanket

Butterfly Barnyard mixes the softness of the 1930s, with an updated, classic border design of repeating spikes to create a fun “fence-inspired” layout, inspired by a barnyard. With appliquéd butterflies to offset the background, you create an adorable baby quilt that is sure to keep every baby it touches wrapped in love.  We used a reproduction line by Darlene Zimmerman for Robert Kaufman Fabrics called Penny & Friends and selected two contrasting prints for a simple, modern layout of just one Quiltworx border block.

Craftsy Dresden Plate

Craftsy Dresden Plate

Announcing the Quiltworx Dresden Plate!  This is the first Quiltworx block exclusively designed with instructions available in the excellent Visual Learning Environment offered by Craftsy.com.  As a departure from our current publication process where patterns include full instructions and papers, the Quiltworx Dresden Plate must be obtained by purchasing a workshop from Craftsy, taught by Certified Instructor, Jackie Kunkel, then either downloading papers as part of class materials (downloadable files are only available through Craftsy.com, after purchasing the class), or purchasing the optional newsprint packages from either Quiltworx.com or Craftsy.com.
