Bio

Ana started sewing clothing at the age of 9 for 4-H. At age 16, she started hand quilting and binding. By 21, she had started a scrapbooking and quilting business. Making quilts and quilting on commission was in higher demand, so in 2010 she decided to focus on quilting. Since 2008, Ana has made over 600 quilted items for others. She discovered Quiltworx online in 2013, by 2014 she was looking all over for a class to learn to paper piece.
Ana’s first pattern was Winter Wonderland table runner with CI Jodie Madison. Her second was Geese in Flight placemats, Stormy Seas, then Weathered Windmill (2015), and another Weathered Windmill in 2016. Ana has completed over 70 Quiltworx patterns and excitedly shares her love of paper piecing with others.
When she isn’t teaching or quilting, Ana spends time with her husband, daughter, and two dogs, gardens, does woodworking and spends summers camping…and sewing.
Since 2021, Ana has been restoring and rebuilding their 117 year old Barn. This new(ish) 6,000 square foot facility now houses her retail space for Sew That!, a classroom for at least 18 – where everyone gets their own solid table and outlet, and has overnight accommodations for up to 15. Retreaters and Renters have use of a full kitchen, living room, dining room, 4 full bathrooms, laundry and more.
Ana loves to color kits using Quiltster, cuts them down to strips for her students and even offers kit cutting services! She offers classes nearly every Saturday, with Technique of the Month and Judy Support Group alternating years. And finally, adding the finishing touches with custom or E2E long arm quilting and binding services.
Find the most up-to-date schedule on www.Facebook.com/SewThat and www.icansewthat.com is always open! Online classes also available!
Ana is based in Iowa, but willing to travel!
