What's New in January 2019

We’re ringing in the New Year with some great new patterns showcased at Houston Quilt Market, and some familiar oldies revamped and modernized for easier piecing and assembly! All of them are made from our newest Fall 2018 fabric lines.

These patterns are now available for purchase on our website, and the fabrics are available in a quilt shop near you! There are digitized quilting designs available for the oldies, and you should keep your eyes peeled for digitized designs for the newest patterns coming soon!

All of the patterns are available in Quiltster! If you’ve never heard of Quiltster, it’s an incredible fabric auditioning software that allows you to pick and choose fabrics before you spend money (Click here for a video introduction). OR, contact a quilt shop carrying Quiltworx patterns, and ask for a Quiltster Consultation! They’d be happy to help you design and pre-plan your quilt.

The Cappuccino: A Party for 4 Placemats shown on the cover is our latest update to a very popular pattern designed by Judy and Brad Niemeyer several years ago. The pattern teaches a simple concept using two strips of fabric to create one appealing block design. This quilt was designed as a fun and fast quilt for all skill levels of quilters and is very fast to complete.

Midnight Safari

The Prairie Star pattern is a Quiltworx classic, now on it’s second update since inception. The latest version has some differences and is not compatible with previous versions. The size has changed just slightly, but the changes have mostly come from updates to piecing techniques, providing units that have more color options, and eliminating the use of Y-seams for final assembly.

Featured in the April edition of American Patchwork & Quilting, the Rustic Mountain Snowflake seasonal table topper (or place mat) was designed to introduce quilters to paper piecing. While the magazine comes with the pattern and papers for 1 table topper, you can order the set of 4 on our website or your favorite quilt shop for a limited time.

Sundial is a wonderful project for beginner, intermediate and advanced students, with all straight-lined foundation strip piecing, and some very gradually curved piecing required for final assembly. It is compatible with Quiltworx 48-piece 2-1/2” strip sets and can also be expanded using Quiltworx On-Point Expansion packages (listed on under Related Products on the pattern page), which would bring this design to 99” square.

Several NEW Digital Quilt Designs – Now Available!

We’re pleased to present the newest additions to our digital quilting library. If you’re looking for rich, beautiful, heirloom-quality designs that fit our latest patterns perfectly, they’ve arrived!

Most can be purchased as a complete package or in individual units, and are compatible with most commercial machines that can read quilting design files. Refer to the QUILT DESIGN web pages below for details.

Please note, spaces that are shown as blank in the design were quilted using line work following the shape of the units and pieces in the blocks. This type of quilting approach is typically easier to accomplish and place without a digitized option. It is up to you how you choose to quilt these open spaces!  To see how we quilted the open spaces, click on the links below labeled “…DIGITIZED DESIGN…“, and hover over the “Alternate Views” images.
