Picture a lakeside carnival after dark. The Ferris wheel is glowing, the midway lights are spilling across the water, and every color is turned all the way up. Lakeshore Hosta Wall captures that moment in fabric. Petals of hot pink, violet, crimson, tangerine, sunny yellow, emerald, turquoise, and cobalt spin around a glowing starburst center, all set against a midnight-black background.

This is a quilt that makes the room. Hang it above a sofa, at the end of a hallway, or in a sunroom or studio, and it becomes the focal point that everything else gravitates toward. The dark background keeps it dramatic, and the colors bring the energy that makes it impossible to walk past without stopping to look.

The cover quilt colorway was designed by Mike Flynn in juicy, saturated batiks from the Raja Batiks Color Storm and Shades collections by QT Fabrics. These fabrics have the depth of color and the marbled movement of festival lights reflected on rippling water. Mike Flynn pieced the quilt, and Leslie Ryan quilted it.

This new version of Lakeshore Hosta Wall has been redesigned using blocks from our Hosta Mixer series. The finished quilt is 80″ square, and the standardized blocks can be mixed and matched in Quiltster if you’d like to make the design your own. Because of this redesign, the pattern is not compatible with previous versions of Lakeshore Hosta Wall. In exchange you get far more versatility, including the ability to go larger or smaller.

• 68″ square: Leave off the 281-D border.
• 80″ square: Make the quilt as written.
• 102″ square: Add one of the 284-K borders (sold separately).
• 118″ square: Add one of the 277-H borders (sold separately).

Replacement Papers are available if you’d like to make another one, perhaps in a completely different palette. Please note that these papers won’t work with previous versions of the pattern.
