That’s the feeling behind Lakeshore Hosta Queen, the long-awaited reimagining of one of our most beloved designs, now beautifully realized in the cool, luminous blues of Timeless Treasures’ Misty Beaches Collection designed by Judy and Judel Niemeyer.

This breathtaking 100″ × 100″ quilt captures the essence of lakeside living — deep navy depths, icy pale blues, soft creams, and the faintest blush of a shoreline sunset woven together in a swirling, medallion-style composition that feels both dramatic and serene. It’s the kind of quilt that becomes the centerpiece of a room — and the heirloom that gets talked about for generations.

What’s New in This Release

This isn’t just a reprint — it’s a genuine redesign. Judy took the opportunity to revisit the original pattern from the ground up, and the result is a cleaner, more refined version of a classic in every meaningful way.

The center block has been redesigned to eliminate areas of bulk that Judy was never fully satisfied with in the original, delivering a flatter, more polished finish that makes quilting and display both easier and more beautiful. The surrounding blocks have also been rebuilt to current Quiltworx standards including updating TRP lines and Smart Corners throughout, ensuring the kind of accurate, confident assembly our quilters expect from a modern Quiltworx pattern.

Lakeshore Hosta Queen is also now part of our new Hosta Medallion Mixer series, where blocks have been standardized across the collection so they can be mixed, matched, and previewed in Quiltster to create a layout that’s uniquely yours. These standardized blocks are what make the Mixer series so exciting — and they’re also why this updated pattern is not compatible with previous versions. The redesigned blocks simply won’t fit the old layout, and we think once you see what’s possible, you won’t look back.
