Bridal Bouquet Border

If you’re looking for a beautiful alternative to turn-under appliqué for the Group D Border of Royal Iris, consider using these amazing stitched-out designs by Vanessa Fromm.

This pattern includes digitized embroidery applique designs compatible with the Quiltworx Bridal Bouquet Border applique shapes. Foundation papers and applique sheets are sold separately.

This CD contains the following:

• Design files the following formats: ART60, .ART, .DST, .EXP, .HUS, .JEF, .PES, .VIP, .VP3.
• The designs have been divided up so that they can be stitched out using a hoop with an embroidery field that is at LEAST 200mm x 300mm (7.8” x 11.8”).

Also included on CD:

• Full-sized layout included as PDF (it is “tiled” and can be taped together)
• Mirror and non-mirror templates for cutting out shapes
• Cutting instructions and SVG cutting files that can be used with your preferred electronic cutting machine. (There are also instructions for preparing Applique shapes using the Stitch-N-Peel Templates.)

Royal Iris Playlist: 

The videos included in this playlist were not done as part of the Royal Iris pattern, but for other designs. The colorways don’t match, but the units and instructions are the same. Royal Iris is constructed using five distinct sections from the Stella Maris Mixer Series:

Video 1: The Stella Maris 4 Round 68 Inch Introduction Booklet Video, while not the same size as the Royal Iris will give you the general techniques needed organize your pattern and get you started.

Video 2: Group J is comprised of (8) center diamonds.

Video 3: Groups K and L radiate out from the center star in two additional rounds of (8) star points each.

Video 4: Group L for the Royal Iris doesn’t include any pieced units but uses cutting templates to cut whole pieces of fabric.Group N is a pieced medallion-style border that prepares the center star for the outer border. Currently there is no video for Group N.

Videos 5 and 6: Group D is a pieced and appliquéd medallion border added to the rounds to result in a 99″-square quilt. While there isn’t a video specific to this quilt, the Bouquet Border is demonstrated as part of the Valley Blossoms Bridal Bouquet Border demonstration.  Video 3 shows the turn-under technique, and Video 4 shows the technique for Digitized Embroidery.
