Bio

I learned to sew by hand as a child doing embroidery and clothing and was making all my own clothes by machine as a teenager. The more difficult the better including wedding dresses. In my 20’s I did a class in patchwork and was hooked. My first sampler was done completely by hand and I developed a love for applique and hand quilting. The best part however, the being able to play with colour and fabric provides a wonderful array.
I have taught patchwork and quilting for many years, while living in a number of different locations around Australia, finally ending up in Perth. While acting as a convenor for the WA Quilters QuiltWest exhibition I was tasked with sourcing suitable quilt patterns to assemble for raffle quilts. I had already discovered Quiltworx and made a Wedding Star quilt for my brother. We had already embarked on Flowers for my Wedding Ring as the next raffle quilt, when Leonie brought her shop to the exhibition and I then started the journey to become a Quiltworx Instructor.
The methodologies and patterns provided by Quiltworx had me hooked. I still work another job as an Accountant and have moved to regional Western Australia where I have taught with local craft groups. I am available for longer periods, and particularly weekend workshops. The reward from teaching and helping students to create keeps sanity and balance in my life.
