Bio

Flo started her sewing career back in home economics class in high school where she learned how to make clothes.  She continued to sew clothes for her two daughters for years.  She was introduced to quilting by a friend in the late 1990’s and was hooked.

Flo got the desire to do a Judy quilt in 2011 when she first saw the Bali Wedding Star.   The first pattern was bought, but intimidation put it on the shelf until 2014 when she attended a lecture at the Paducah AQS show in 2012.  That was the first sighting of the Amazon Star and another pattern was bought.

Flo searched for classes in her area but it wasn’t until late 2013 that a certified shop came into the area.  She signed up for the Mariner’s Compass and the rest is history.  She was hooked.

Flo has made over a dozen of Judy’s quilts since then including the Amazon Star.  She stared teaching quilting classes after her retirement as a NICU RN.  She loves to share her passion for Judy’s paper piecing techniques with her students and loves it when they “get it”.

Flo resides in Tampa Bay with her husband of 42 years and her 4 legged son.  She teaches currently at two local shops but is ready to expand and will travel where the need for Judy Niemeyer classes arise.  You can contact Flo through her FB page “Sew Happy Together” which she partners with soon to be CI Ann Troutman or via her phone number above.
