Originally developed in 2018 by Judel and Bradley Niemeyer of Quiltworx.com, the Sundial foundation papers and strip piecing techniques were created to make stunning medallion quilts fast, fun, and accessible. As mentioned above, there are several ways to expand your Quiltworx designs into larger sizes using compatible border packages—just click the Buy Now button to explore your options. Here’s how you can grow your Sundial quilt:

To expand from 68″ an 80″ Wall Quilt: Choose a 281D border of your choice from the same section. We suggest the Star Shine Border.
To expand from 68″ to a 99″ Queen: Add one of the 242D border packages. We suggest the Sunbeam Queen Border.
To reach a 118″ King size there are two options:
Option 1 (80″ to 118″) – Start by adding a 281D border, then finish with a 118″ 277-H King Border package. We suggest the Radiating Geese Border.
Option 2 (99″ to 118″) – Start by adding a 242D border, then finish with an 3- or 4-Tiered Adjustable Border. We suggest the Floating Triangles Adjustable Border.

These expansion options make it easy to customize your quilt to the perfect size for your space or project goals.
