If you enjoyed our previous Beach House & Goodnight Star workshops, we’re pleased to announce our next Quilt-Along with Judy Live Event, Confetti Cake, is right around the corner and it’s FREE!

We’ll be doing a pre-class planning video on June 15th. It will release at 1 p.m. and be pre-recorded. It will include information on how to cut and sort your strips to be ready for class.

Then you can join us on June 29, 2023, for the Confetti Cake Live Stream! You’ll learn everything you need to know to complete this pattern, and the techniques can be used for many of our other patterns as well (like Ice Castles, Prismatic Star, Diamonds in Bloom, Prismatic Star Queen, and Tattered Star), so it will be well worth seeing, even if you’re working on other patterns.

This workshop could also be useful as a reference tool for many patterns that use lone star blocks in a portion of the quilt. Some examples include the center blocks in Sparkle, Summer Solstice and Summer Solstice Queen, Congo Star, Amazon Star, Fortune Teller, Prism Table Runner, Lakeshore Sunrise, Woodcarvers Star, Starry Night, and more!  While these quilts contain other blocks and techniques, the lone star block will be covered in this workshop.

To prepare for the workshop, if you have these patterns in mind, review your specific pattern for yardage and cutting information or use Quiltster to prepare! Tune in to the pre-class preparation video with Judel on June 15th, and learn more about how to do this!

All of Judy’s live demonstrations will be recorded, so if you can’t make the Live Events, all of the segments will be available for viewing after the classes have ended on both Facebook and YouTube, free. If there are technical difficulties, we’ll record the session off-line, and post it on both our Facebook feed and our YouTube Channel.

As mentioned, kits and patterns are available. Quiltworx and our wonderful Certified Shops and Instructors will be preparing kits for all of these classes, so check out the links below.

Please note for the patterns other than Confetti Cake, that although the quilt layouts and yardage requirements are not exactly the same, the repeating lone star blocks with sashing are used in other designs. Ice Castles is the same layout, just different cutting and fabric requirements. Other quilts that very closely align with Confetti Cake and use the techniques learned in this workshop include Prismatic Star, Diamonds in Bloom, Prismatic Star Queen, and Tattered Star.
